Bobo Fings live in Mali and Burkina Faso. They are a Mande group.
Most are subsistence farmers who grow corn, red sorghum, pearl millet, and yams. They grow cotton as a cash crop which they sell to a textile mill in Koudougou.
Their political system is decentralized; the idea of one person holding very much power is foreign to the Bobo Fings. Each village is set apart by having a common ancestor. The head of that lineage is called the wakoma or father of the lineage. They are best known for their art, especially wooden masks.
There is a Christian minority among the Bobo Fings. Christian or otherwise, they practice traditional religion. Waro is their creator god, who gave order to all things. There is a dichotomy between humans vs. spirits, male vs. female, etc.
Bobo Fings need readily available medical care. They live in rural areas where there are few if any hospitals.
Pray for Bobo Fing Christians to be so consumed by passion for Christ that they are compelled to declare his name to the Muslims in West Africa.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to abundantly bless the Bobo Fings spiritually and materially.
Pray for a record-high harvest as a testimony of God’s love and power.
