Gangai in Nepal
The Gangai are divided into seven subgroups, four of which live in Nepal. They are found primarily in northeast India and Nepal. Traditionally potters, most Gangai today are farmers and weavers. They live in joint family systems, inheriting property equally among sons. Despite cultural shifts, they maintain distinctive clothing and traditions.
Ministry Obstacles
Although the Gangai speak Nepali and Bible resources exist in that language, they remain unreached by the gospel. Deep-rooted Hindu beliefs, including worship of ancestral, village, and household deities, as well as some Buddhist influence, reinforce spiritual barriers. Their spiritual practices may meet emotional needs, but do not address their true need for salvation and abundant life through Christ.

Pray for the availability of good-quality Christian radio in the regions where these people live.
Pray that they will learn of these broadcasts and be drawn to listen with understanding.
Pray that key members of the Gangai families become followers of Christ and then lead the other family members to the Savior.
Pray that the Holy Spirit of the one true God will enable them to experience his full payment of the penalty for their sins.
