The Shekos have their own language by the same name but most also speak Amharic and Gimira.
Shekos live by tilling the land. They use the hoe for tilling the land. They produce enset and coffee. They are polygamous and intermarry with the Bench people.
Those in Mozambique are largely Roman Catholic, but they also hold onto traditional beliefs. Interestingly, they prefer an Africanized Bible translation which they have embraced as their own. There is a strong Evangelical presence among them.
The Senas in Mozambique need more medical clinics.
Pray for an accurate and complete Bible translation in the Sheko language.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in Sheko churches and homes, drawing them closer to the King of kings.
Pray for them to become a powerful mission force in Ethiopia.
