Introduction / History

The Massep are sometimes known as the Masep, Wotaf, or Potafa people but they prefer to be called Massep. Their Isirawa language is part of the Massep language family.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Massep people are marketers of coconut and coconut oil, dry fish, and vegetables. The people eat fish, yams, and sago.
At an altitude of less than 100 meters above sea level the Massep people can best be accessed by boat.

What Are Their Beliefs?

About two-thirds identify as Christian. Both Malay and Massep is used in church.

What Are Their Needs?

There is very little infrastructure in the area and no roads.

Pray for the Lord to show himself powerful and loving by giving their farmers an abundant harvest this decade.
Pray for revival fire to consume Massep families and churches.
