Malays are not in that position.

What Are Their Lives Like?

There is a strong sense of community among the Malay Muslim Diaspora. Cleanliness is typically a feature of most Malay homes. Most Malay families consist of a husband, his wife, and their children. In Malay society, marriage is expected of every person. Although many Malay marriages are arranged, the consent of both parties is required. There are no descent or kinship groups among the Malay.

What Are Their Beliefs?

All Malay are classified as Sunni Muslims at birth. Sunni Islam is based on the five pillars of Islamic faith. They affirm there is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet. They are required to pray five times a day, give alms to the poor, fast during the month of Ramadan, and try to make at least one pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.

What Are Their Needs?

Malays in Brunei live in a peaceful, prosperous land. They are often students or in the business sector.
