The small Ndigiri tribe only lives in Kenya. They speak Gikuyu.
We don’t have specific information about their lifestyle, but most likely, they are subsistence farmers who grow beans, corn, and vegetables for their families. Those who grow extra sell it along with handmade goods in local markets. They commonly live near their farms, where they do the majority of their work.
They live in extended families where they look to their elders for wise decision-making and for child care while parents are working on family farms. Respect for elders and communal child-rearing are common cultural values.
Ndigiris are mostly animistic, with a deep fear of the spirits. There is also a strong Christian presence among them that can lead them into a strong relationship with the King of kings.
Ndigiris need medical clinics in each of their villages. Ideally, there would be a team of people in each town who can take care of first aid and medical emergencies using modern medicine.
Pray for their families and churches to enjoy spiritual refreshing.
May their churches recognize that only Jesus Christ can satisfy their spiritual needs and that they need to forsake the spirit world.
Pray for the Lord to show himself powerful and loving by providing them with an abundant harvest.
